NET-ZERO X SMART CITY AND BIO VERTICAL FARM
Abu Dhabi, UAE
The Abu Dhabi Net-Zero Intelligent Vertical Farm & Smart City is a transformative eco-smart community that integrates a future-oriented smart city above ground with a net-zero vertical bio-farm underground. Conceived as a model of innovation, luxury, and sustainability, the project supports economic diversification and positions Abu Dhabi as a global leader in green development.
The upper “Da Vinci X Future Smart City” features futuristic architecture, intelligent mobility, anti-gravity structures, integrated commercial-entertainment hubs, and aerial transit systems such as sky buses and air taxis. It functions as a high-integration urban framework where finance, culture, lifestyle, and energy are seamlessly coordinated.
Beneath the surface, the “Da Vinci X Net-Zero Vertical Bio-Farm” delivers fully automated, AI-managed agriculture powered by renewable energy. Using precision climate control, hydroponics, aquaponics, and LED lighting, it produces year-round food and aquaculture output while minimizing land use and costs. Complementary functions include education, agro-tourism, and research, reinforcing the city’s sustainability mission.
The Abu Dhabi government has allocated 35 million sqm of land in Al Haffar and secured USD 8 billion in long-term financing through Emirates Development Bank, underscoring its commitment to sustainable urban ecosystems. With zero net energy consumption, AI-driven automation, and closed-loop resource systems, the project addresses challenges of climate change, food security, and rapid urbanization. By merging innovation, ecology, and human-centered design, the project establishes a new benchmark for sustainable cities in arid environments and a replicable model for future global urban development.
