QALZAM SEA SMART ECO CITY
Jeddah, KSA
The Qalzam Sea Energy, Aquaculture and Smart Agricultural City is a flagship project under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, designed to build a world-leading ecological industrial complex that integrates food security, aquaculture, sustainable agriculture, and clean energy. With a planned area of 30 million square meters, the project includes a Phase I site of 14 million square meters and a Phase II site of 16 million square meters, together forming a comprehensive demonstration zone for intelligent agriculture and aquaculture.
Phase I targets an annual output of 600,000 tons of aquatic products and 80,000 tons of agricultural products, supported by advanced AI-driven farming and biosecurity systems. The development comprises 35 integrated components, including hatcheries, aquaculture farms, renewable energy and desalination facilities, food industry clusters, smart logistics, research and training centers, and eco-residential communities. Powered by solar mirrors, wind turbines, and geothermal energy, the project operates on a net-zero carbon basis.
By combining onshore and offshore aquaculture systems, hydroponics, aquaponics, and AI-optimized logistics, the Qalzam Sea Project is positioned as a strategic supply hub for the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and North America. With targeted annual exports of 120,000 tons of premium agricultural and aquatic products, it represents a revolutionary step in agriculture, fisheries, and clean energy, positioning Saudi Arabia as a global leader in sustainable food and energy systems.
